at DAR DANSE
our performing arts retreat on the coast of Morocco !

5th – 12th AUGUST 2012

Girls age 13 -18 working at Intermediate and Advanced level with additional classes for younger students
Boys age 16 - 18 working at Advanced level

Join Royal Ballet Dancers, for an exclusive summer school
at our new Performing Arts Retreat, on the coast of Morocco! 

DAR DANSE is being built to meet the needs of dancers and performing artists in a breathtaking setting – an eco friendly centre of excellence, built in total harmony with its natural surroundings, with uniquely designed studios, treatment rooms, Moroccan spa, outdoor butterfly pool and healthy cuisine restaurant, all overlooking the ever-changing ocean.

The highly acclaimed Royal Ballet faculty will be migrating to Dar Danse, and they are really excited about the chance to escape from London, to their ‘bubble on the beach’!
 Under the expert guidance and tuition of these world-class professionals you will improve your technique, musicality and artistry, in this most inspirational setting.

Alongside company-style ballet classes, you will be able to learn excerpts from the Royal Ballet repertoire, from the very dancers who have performed them on the Covent Garden stage! There will also be Contemporary classes, Character/Flamenco workshops, Choreography, Dance Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation, making use of our specialist, purpose-built facilities - all followed by a refreshing plunge in the pool!

Students aged 13 - 18 will have approximately 5 hours of classes per day. Younger students have the option of attending a less intensive schedule, with one or two classes per day, with the Royal Ballet faculty - leaving plenty of time for the pool!

 

Family and friends are all welcome!
We will happily create a tailor-made holiday for members of your family or friends accompanying you. They will be able to watch classes, and take advantage of our fantastic setting and facilities, offering an exciting range of activities for all ages and interests, both on-site and in the surrounding area, to include:

Moroccan Spa and traditional Hammam,
Jacuzzi, Massage, Yoga, Reiki,
Camel and horse riding along the beach,
 Pottery, Scenery painting, Costume making,
Fun adult beginners ballet classes with Royal Ballet dancers
Traditional Moroccan tea parties, Beach barbecues,
Sight-seeing, Essaouira souk and medina visits,
Moroccan cookery, Art, Basket weaving,
Table-tennis, Swimming, Surfing, Volley ball,
Quad biking along the beach and dunes…
(Bespoke excursions to the High Atlas mountains and Sahara desert, with
accommodation in Bedouin tents, can be arranged on request!)

Then again you may prefer to just sip a cocktail by the pool, or
sit on the roof terrace and watch the sun setting over the sea!

Students will be selected from the information provided on the application form and photographs, and you will be informed of the result of your application within three weeks.

It would be useful to know too the ages and interests of other members of the family who are thinking of coming along. We want the experience to be fun and enriching for everyone, so the more information we have the better!

The cost of the WellsAway Week will be £598 to include:

  • 7 nights half board accommodation
  • Transfers from and to Marrakech airport for selected flights
  • 24 hr chaperones (for students attending without family) during Wells Away Week and on selected flights
  • For dance students: average 5 hours dance classes per day, all organised activities
  • For accompanying family members: All on-site facilities, dedicated extra activities and excursions

(some optional off-site activities may incur an extra charge)

Not included: Lunch and flights (if booked long enough in advance, can cost as little as £80 return)
